BRIDGE OVER THE MEDITERRANEAN 2009/2010

Deadline: January 16, 2009

Video.it, created by Artegiovane, a non-profit, non-commercial association of art collectors (founded in Torino in 1995, Milan in 2002, and Catania in 2007) is a competition dedicated to promoting video art. First held in 1999, it immediately emerged as a platform for exhibiting and projecting new creations by video artists.

The competition held to celebrate Video.it’s tenth anniversary will be presented on three consecutive evenings and will offer a completely new program with sections dedicated to the Mediterranean area, thanks in no small part to the important role in terms of contact, stimulus and artistic creativity played in recent years by the Biennale dei Giovani Artisti dell’ Europa e del Mediterraneo  (Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean Area). As the subject of the next competition, it was decided to suggest a reflection starting from the idea of “A Bridge over the Mediterranean”, seen both  as a link between migrant and resident populations and as a bridge between the world of art and society.
